Booking Conditions

Deposits/Refunds: Bookings are not confirmed until a 25% deposit has been paid. The full cost of Young Dartington must be paid 4 weeks prior to the start of the camp.

Your deposit is fully refundable up to 4 weeks before the camp.  In the event of the customer cancelling less than 4 weeks but more than 2 weeks before, 50% of the full cost of the booking will be retained. In the event of the customer cancelling less than 2 weeks before the start of the camp, 100% cost of the camp will be retained.

Cancellation: If Young Dartington has to be cancelled for any reason, entirely out of the control of Young Dartington then we cannot guarantee that a full refund or compensation can be paid. In the very unlikely event of such a cancellation, Young Dartington will endeavor to offer an alternative summer camp or refund if possible.

Physical activities: You must be able to swim 50m in order to participate in water-sports, canoeing and kayaking activities. There is an inherent risk in all outdoor activities- rock climbing, caving, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing etc. Whilst we take every effort to minimise this risk it can never be reduced to zero. Caving and other outdoor activities can result in damaged clothes. Please wear old clothes for these.

General Activities: We will endeavor to put children together with their friends if requested but as timetabling is very complicated, sometimes this is just not possible.
All activities are carried out by highly experienced instructors and teachers and the activities have been tailored for children of 8 to 14. Some activities are energetic and physical and some are more gentle. We create the timetables for all children to participate in all activities however no child has to do something they do not want to. If they have any concerns, please just let us know as we are here to help and support.

Safety: All participants are required to observe any safety regulations Young Dartington feels it is necessary to implement. All outdoor activities are run by centers and instructors who are registered and licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations (AALA). Local authority safety and equipment guidelines are observed. Courses are run by skilled, experienced and qualified instructors where such qualifications exist. The overall adult : child ratio meets LEA and national safety guidelines. All activities are risk assessed. All instructors are required to hold a current Criminal Records Bureau check and to present it to the management of Young Dartington. Young Dartington cannot accept responsibility for children outside of its operating hours: 0900 Monday morning until 1630 Friday afternoon.

Liability: Young Dartington will not accept liability for any accident, injury, loss or damage to property until an internal enquiry has been conducted. Verbal admission of culpability made by a member of staff at Young Dartington shall not be taken as an admission of culpability by Young Dartington itself.

Expensive items brought to the camp: We do not advise that children bring expensive items of clothing or electrical goods to the camp which may be lost of damaged. Young Dartington will not accept any responsibility for such items and does not have secure storage.

Behaviour: At Young Dartington the activities and all spaces are for sharing. We expect all children that attend the camp to respect each other and to share these views. We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to bullying or being mean to other children or staff. Young Dartington reserves the right to exclude or refuse any person at any time prior to or during the camp if these boundaries are not respected.

Photos: During the course of Young Dartington many digital photos are taken of activities and participants. Parents have the right to request copies of any of these photos and to request that Young Dartington permanently deletes any photos which contain images of their children. Young Dartington will only use images of children in its promotional material (including printed and online) if permission is granted on the booking form.
